Reducing calorie intake can help you reduce your pregnancy weight. However, it is not recommended in dealing with weight gain in pregnancy. It is during pregnancy that your body needs a lot of calories since your baby will need lots of them.
Having a low calorie count is one of the causes of low birth weight for babies. Calories is one of the most important things you should have in your body as its deficiency can results to birth defects.
As a first step, ask your doctor to check your daily caloric intake and ask for recommendations as well. Your doctor should be able to determine whether you would need to take more calories than the usual or just continue your previous calorie intake.
